Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Welcome to NovelPlayer. NovelPlayer is provided by its operator (referred to as ‘we’). We take user privacy and personal information protection seriously, and we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we process when you access or use the NovelPlayer website, app, API, preview pages, caching features, third-party AI integrations, and related services.

1. What information we collect

We may collect information you provide directly, information we collect automatically, and information obtained from third parties.

  • Account information: email, username, password, avatar, organization details, subscription, or billing information.
  • Content you submit: text, prompts, images, audio, files, feedback, support tickets, and configuration related to content processing.
  • Usage and device information: IP address, device model, operating system, browser, language, access time, page clicks, error logs, crash records, performance data, and cookies.
  • Third-party information: if you sign in with a third-party account or call third-party AI / storage / speech capabilities through the service, we may receive related authorization information or tokens.

If you use features that rely on caching, queues, history, or retries, we may also temporarily store session-related inputs, outputs, generated results, and processing metadata to improve response speed, reduce duplicate computation, preserve continuity, and troubleshoot issues.

2. How we use information

We use your personal information only for the purposes described in this policy, mainly to:

  • Provide, maintain, protect, and improve NovelPlayer and its features.
  • Route requests to integrated third-party AI services based on availability, performance, stability, and compliance requirements, and return generated results.
  • Enable caching, queuing, retries, deduplication, session continuity, and faster results.
  • Handle account registration, login verification, customer support, payments, notifications, and security protection.
  • Analyze product performance, fix issues, monitor abuse, and improve the experience, routing, recommendations, and security mechanisms.
  • Within the scope allowed by law, use de-identified or aggregated data for product and model improvements, quality evaluation, analytics, and security research. If you do not want your data used for model training, you can opt out in the product by turning off ‘Data used to improve experience’. Once disabled, your inputs and outputs will no longer be used for our model training.

For the content you submit, we may use de-identified, aggregated, or minimally necessary data to improve the product, model routing, cache hit rate, prompt optimization, security detection, and user experience, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If the law requires consent, we will obtain it before processing; if the law allows opt-out, we will provide a way to opt out.

Please understand that the platform may integrate third-party AI service providers including, but not limited to, OpenAI, Google Gemini, and DeepSeek (subject to change based on the actual integration). Those third parties process forwarded requests under their own terms and privacy policies. We will make reasonable efforts to limit sharing to what is necessary to provide the service, and we recommend reviewing each third party’s privacy policy as well.

3. How we share, transfer, and disclose information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share, transfer, or disclose it only in the following circumstances:

  • With your explicit consent or at your direction.
  • To provide integrated third-party AI, speech, storage, payment, analytics, or security services.
  • To comply with legal obligations or valid requests from government or judicial authorities.
  • To protect your rights, our rights, or the rights, property, and safety of other users.
  • In a merger, reorganization, asset transfer, or similar transaction, provided the recipient continues to be bound by this policy.

We require recipients to handle data under strict confidentiality and security requirements, and only to the extent necessary to accomplish the stated purpose.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, pixels, browser storage, and similar technologies to maintain sign-in state, remember preferences, count visits, enforce security controls, and measure service effectiveness. For non-essential cookies, where required by law, we will use them only after you consent. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings, though that may affect some features.

We may use third-party analytics and site verification services, including but not limited to Google Analytics (GA4) and Bing Webmaster Tools, to understand aggregated usage such as traffic sources, pages visited, session duration, and device or browser types, in order to improve our website, apps, and product. Google Analytics anonymizes IP addresses by default.

These analytics tools may place non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies. Where required by law (such as under the GDPR), we will load such tracking only after you consent. You can also manage or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings or consent prompt on our website, or restrict or reject such tracking in your browser settings.

5. Data retention, cross-border transfer, and security

We retain your personal information only for the shortest period necessary to fulfill the collection purpose, or longer when required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, security audits, or other regulatory needs.

If our service, cloud infrastructure, or third-party service providers are located inside or outside mainland China, your personal information may be transferred to or stored on servers in China or outside your country/region.

We use reasonable security measures, including access control, encryption, least privilege, audit logs, anomaly detection, and security training to protect your personal information. However, the internet is not absolutely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information is 100% safe.

6. Your rights and choices

To the extent allowed by law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data export, withdrawal of consent, or objection to certain processing activities.

  • You can manage some data through account settings, browser settings, or by contacting us.
  • If you want to delete your account or personal information, please contact us using the details below.
  • If you withdraw consent, that withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal.
  • If certain data is required for service delivery, security, or legal compliance, we may not be able to delete or modify it immediately, but we will process your request to the extent permitted by law.

7. Protection of minors

Our service is primarily intended for adults. If you are a minor, please do not register for or use the service without parental or guardian consent. If we learn that we have collected a minor’s personal information, we will take deletion or de-identification measures as required by applicable law.

8. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) and local services

NovelPlayer supports bring-your-own-key (BYOK) integrations, allowing you to configure API keys or settings for local or third-party AI services. Such keys are stored only on your device (for example, in browser local storage) and are not uploaded, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. We cannot read, access, or use your keys in any way.

When you use a bring-your-own service, related requests may be sent directly from your device to the service provider you specify, without passing through us; that provider will process your key and data under its own terms and privacy policy. We recommend you review and follow the applicable third-party policies.

9. GDPR / UK GDPR supplemental notice

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following supplemental notice applies:

  • The legal basis for processing your personal information may include contract performance, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligations.
  • You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, object, and withdraw consent.
  • If you believe our processing is unlawful, you may also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • When personal information is transferred across borders to China or other regions, we will use standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards where applicable.

If you do not want us to use your content for product improvements, quality analysis, or model-related optimization, you can opt out in the product by turning off ‘Data used to improve experience’.

10. Policy updates and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When there are material changes, we will notify you through website announcements, in-app notices, or email.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about this Privacy Policy or personal information protection, please email privacy@novelplayer.com .
